School District 20 will be having a special meeting Monday to discuss the options for closures or reconfigurations of schools in Rossland and Castlegar.

The agenda, which can be found here, gives the possible outcomes for Rossland Secondary and Maclean Elementary.

The options that the board will consider are, but not limited to: Making RSS K-12 and closing MacLean Elementary; making RSS K-9, closing MacLean, which means sending RSS grade 10-12 students to J.L. Crowe Secondary; and making MacLean K-7, closing RSS and sending RSS grade 8-12 students to Crowe.

Also up for discussion are Castlegar’s Twin Rivers and Castlegar Primary.

The special meeting is Monday, April 30 at 7 p.m. at Blueberry Creek Community School.
