Reginald “Reggie” James Godard and his wife of 35 years Joy were making their very first trip with a motorcycle riding club when their bikes collided on the Sea to Sky highway, police said.
The 57-year-old Langley resident was trying to catch up with his spouse when the crash occurred.
The club was heading north on Highway 99 near Porteau Cove around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday August 6 when Godard tried to pass another vehicle at the same time as his wife was slowing down.
Godard, a father of one and grandfather of two, died from his injuries.
His wife was expected to recover.
