Penticton and District Search and Rescue said they were called out to the area at 12:30 p.m. to extricate a woman who sustained serious injures and required immediate medical evacuation.

Search and rescue responders mobilized to help stabilize and transport the woman down to a B.C. ambulance waiting at the gates to the park.

“Excellent job done by all, working with our emergency partners BCAS and RCMP. Weather conditions were excellent and the injured hiker was easily located, accessed, stabilized and transported,” said Penticton and District Search and Rescue manager Hamish Reidie.
