Search warrant executed at Anaham, one person arrested

Search warrant on the Anaham Reserve Wednesday results in one 27-year-old man being taken into custody.

A 27-year-old Anaham man was taken into RCMP custody Wednesday, July 30 at 5:30 p.m. after the North District Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence on the Anaham First Nations Reserve.

Charges against the man are currently pending in connection with the seizure of various firearms and ammunition and for breaching his recognizance of bail probation order, Cpl. Dave Tyreman of the North District RCMP stated in a press release Thursday.

“The seized firearms and ammunition will be forwarded to the RCMP forensic lab for analysis,” Tyreman said.

Meanwhile the police investigation continues into an incident at the reserve Sunday, July 27, when around 1 a.m. Alexis RCMP officers were doing an investigation and one officer was allegedly threatened and shortly after that, officers were fired upon by an unknown individual(s).
