Sex offender back behind bars due to violating parole again

A convicted high-risk sex offender was arrested Thursday in Nanaimo just six hours after he was released from custody to live in Courtenay.

A convicted high-risk sex offender was arrested Thursday in Nanaimo just six hours after he was released from custody to live in Courtenay.Adrian Julian Wilson was arrested at the Nanaimo bus terminal for reportedly breaching his recognizance and his probation orders regarding alcohol-related offences, the Comox Valley RCMP said Friday.He is being held in custody and is expected to appear April 23 at provincial court in Courtenay.After being released from a provincial jail Dec. 9, Wilson was returned to custody in January when he violated his parole by drinking alcohol.Recognizing the potential risk to the public that Wilson posed, members of the Comox Valley detachment projects team and drug unit monitored his movements after his release from jail and were able to apprehend Wilson before he returned to the Comox Valley, say Comox Valley RCMP.
