Sign session on tap

Downtown Vernon Association members can find out about a plan for parking signs

Downtown Vernon merchants are being consulted on proposed directional signage.

Cleo Corbett, City of Vernon long range planner, has been working on signage for public parking areas in the downtown core.

“The aim of the project is to create effective, attractive, branded signage that encourages people to utilize these parking areas,” said Lara Konkin, Downtown Vernon Association executive director.

On Wednesday, Corbett will be at the DVA office from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to provide DVA members with information, sign design options, parking sign locations and to get input.

“This will be a drop-in session so stop by anytime during the session, have a snack and give us your thoughts and feedback,” said Konkin.

“Parking signage options can vary greatly. What should Vernon’s new parking signs look like?”
