Motorists are being diverted after a possible slide closed down two major routes in Lake Country.

RCMP have received reports of a landslide above Highway 97 and, as a result, both the highway and Pelmewash Parkway along Wood Lake have been closed for assessment.

“The incident location is marked as Crystal Waters Rd/Hwy 97 (new highway) and the witness indicated the top peak on the left side of the new stretch of the highway,” said Const. Kris Clark, with the RCMP.

Traffic is now being diverted to Oyama Road on the east side of Wood Lake.
