The search for three missing males is continuing at Slocan Lake.
The RCMP dive team conducted another search of the Bigelow Bay area on Tuesday, using underwater sonar in an effort to find the three missing youths from the New Denver area.
So far the search has been unsuccessful.
The dive team plans on continuing the search underwater today (Wednesday). The RCMP is also exploring other viable options in it’s efforts to bring this event to a conclusion.
Emergency Management BC has been contacted and agreed to provide additional equipment that can search at a deeper depth as the lake is well over 400 feet deep where the canoe overturned.
This equipment includes both side scan radar and an underwater remote vehicle. It and operators are expected to arrive on Thursday. There are estimations that the depths reach 600-700 feet within the search area making the recovery more difficult.
The mishap Saturday claimed the life of Lily Harmer-Taylor, 19, while Jule Wiltshire-Padfield, 15, Hayden Kyle, 21, and Skye Donnet, 18, remain missing and are presumed dead.
