Vernon’s house construction industry continues to experience challenges.
The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation reports that there were eight housing starts in March, down from 10 during the same month in 2013.
Of the eight starts, all were single-detached units and no multiple starts were reported.
Year-to-date, there have been 30 starts in Vernon compared to 41 starts during the first three months of 2013.
