Smoky skies advisory lifted

The wildfires burning in the region have been gradually subsiding, reducing the amounts of smoke

The Ministry of Environment ended the smoky skies advisory for the Okanagan Friday.

The wildfires burning in the region have been gradually subsiding, reducing the amounts of smoke and resulting in improved air quality.

Cooler temperatures and calmer winds have created favourable conditions, and further relief is expected over the weekend as the weather system moving through the Southern Interior is forecasted to bring precipitation and cooler temperatures.
