Snow clearing continues throughout Vernon

Residential routes should be completed mid-morning Wednesday and then lanes will be tackled

Following this week’s snow storm, City of Vernon crews began plowing residential roads and cul-de-sacs Tuesday evening and expect to complete these by mid-morning today.

Once these areas are done. crews will begin plowing and sanding lanes in all areas.

“Snow removal will also continue on 27th Street until noon today,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, the city’s communications co-ordinator.

“Late last night, city crews and contract forces started removing snow from the downtown core. Snow removal in the downtown core, 32nd Street, 27th Street and 48th Avenue will continue for the rest of the week. Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution near snow removal equipment.”
