Social services workers take strike vote

Unionized social service workers in Victoria this week voted on whether to strike.

Bargaining halted earlier this month when the provincial Community Social Services Bargaining Association’s proposal for job security was rejected by unions.

Canadian Union of Public Employees and Hospitals Employees’ Union members are affected.

Social services employees work at shelters, care homes, child care centres, crisis lines and sexual assault centres, as examples.
