Grand Forks, B.C. will host the 2012 Spring Fling this weekend (May 4 to 5) with a number of events taking place around the city.
This gathering of bagpipe and drum bands from around the B.C. Southern Interior – which includes the Grand Forks Pipes and Drums – will kick off today (May 4) with a Dog and Suds night at Grand Forks’ Royal Canadian Legion Hall (7353 6th Street, Grand Forks, B.C.) at 5 p.m. and a solo bagpipe contest will follow at around 7:30 p.m.
Saturday will see a march competition through the streets of Grand Forks, starting at 10 a.m., and it all concludes with a banquet at Grand Forks’ curling rink (7230 21st Street, Grand Forks, B.C.) beginning at 5 p.m.
Spring Fling has been an annual event which has taken place for the last 29 years across the Interior region and is a celebration of Scottish music and culture.
