Strong month for real estate sales

In January, there were 118 total property sales, a 140 per cent increase from the 49 sales during the same month in 2013.

There’s a lot of activity within the North Okanagan’s real estate market.

In January, there were 118 total property sales, a 140 per cent increase from the 49 sales during the same month in 2013.

For residential sales, there were 85 units sold, up 93 per cent compared to 44 in January 2013.

“Moving into 2014, the housing market continues to strengthen and maintain a steady upward trend despite sales levels beginning at a cyclical low this time last year,” said Karen Singbeil, Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board president.

While the 295 new North Okanagan listings taken for January were up 38.5 per cent from the 2013 level of 213, the inventory for January saw a 10.2 per cent drop  from 1,963 to 1,763.
