Chilliwack school district is slightly ahead of last year with student enrollment.
So far, the school district has 39 more full time students this year than it did last year, excluding distance learning, continuing ed, and alternative programs.
However, while the student body has increased at the elementary school level, with 118 more students this year than last, it’s decreased in middle and secondary schools, with approximately 79 less students this year than last.
In total, the school district has 11,728 total students, which puts it back on an upward curve.
Last year the district had decreased in student enrollment dropping from 11,743 in 2011 to 11,686 in 2012.
However, according to enrollment projections, the district’s student enrollment is expected to steadily increase well into 2027.
