Support grows for Light A Bulb campaign

The 29th annual Light A Bulb has raised $40,942 so far for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation

Community spirit is shining bright in the North Okanagan.

The 29th annual Light A Bulb has raised $40,942 so far for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation since its Nov. 9 launch.

“Service clubs, community groups, businesses and individuals are helping raise $250,000 for high definition camera heads and control units for operating rooms at Vernon Jubilee Hospital,” said Kevin Arbuckle, campaign chairperson.

The new equipment will provide the surgical team at VJH with the tools to perform minimally invasive surgical and diagnostic procedures.

“Less invasive surgeries result in faster recovery times and shorter hospital stays,” said Arbuckle.

Light A Bulb brochures have recently been delivered to homes in the North Okanagan.
