Suspect located

A suspect vehicle and driver have been identified in the Oct. 22 accident in which a Vernon woman was struck by a vehicle in West Kelowna.

Police believe they are making progress in a case that saw a local resident sent to hospital.

A suspect vehicle and driver have been identified in the Oct. 22 accident in which a 27-year-old Vernon woman was struck by a vehicle in West Kelowna.

The investigation continues into the circumstances and possible charges.

The local woman was driving northbound on Bartley Road, at around 6 p.m., in her Ford Fiesta Coupe and was crossing Highway 97 on a green light when a southbound white pickup truck turned left in front of her car.

The collision resulted in major damage to the Fiesta, and the Vernon woman was taken to Kelowna General Hospital.

According to police, a white pickup truck fled the scene immediately after the crash.
