A 19-year-old was stabbed in the abdomen this past weekend at a house party in Dewdney.
The incident happened in the 37500 block of Hawkins Pickle Road just before 2 a.m. Sunday morning. According to police, a birthday party with about 50 guests was planned, but the event quickly doubled in size when it was put on social media.
The victim was stabbed during an altercation, said Mission RCMP Sgt. Shaun Wright. “The victim suffered significant injuries and was transported to hospital where he underwent surgery.”
The victim is now recovering.
Nobody has been arrested or charged in connection to the stabbing, however, police have identified several people of interest.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the event to call them at 604-826-7161.
