Temporary water, shower and toilet facilities open Monday in Winlaw

Those impacted by the Lemon Creek fuel spill over a week ago will have temporary showers and toilets Monday.

Executive Flight Centre has announced that temporary facilities providing water, shower and toilets for those Slocan residents impacted by the fuel spill into Lemon Creek on Friday, July 26 will be open in Winlaw on Monday, August 5.

Winlaw Elementary School, at 5604 Winlaw Bridge Road, is the site of the shower and toilet facilities and has been dubbed the “Community Resiliency Centre” by Executive Flight Centre.

Hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. There will also be disaster response services available between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The company has also arranged to have potable water available at the fire halls in Crescent Valley, Winlaw, Passmore and on Kennedy Road in Lemon Creek.
