It’s the news parents and students have been waiting to hear.
The B.C. Teachers Federation and the B.C. Public School Employers’ Association have hammered out a tentative agreement that could possibly bring the ongoing labour dispute to an end.
“Details not being released at this time,” states the BCTF on Twitter.
Some media are reporting that teachers could vote on the agreement Thursday. One day would then be needed to prepare classes if the union ratifies the deal, so the earliest school could begin is early next week.
“Both parties are to be congratulated for reaching a deal to get kids back in schools. Parents stay tuned for details,” said Glenn Borthistle, North Okanagan-Shuswap School District superintendent, on Twitter.
