Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP are looking for help in solving a break-in at a popular surf shop.

Just after 1 a.m. Thursday, the Kalavida Surf Shop in the 13000 block of Kalamalka Road was broken into.

“The exterior locker had two locks removed with what appeared to be a grinder,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.

The lockers are on the northwest side of the building backing onto Vernon Creek.

Stolen were five paddleboards with an approximate value of $13,000.

“Indications are a pick-up truck was used by the suspects as they loaded the boards in the back and left,” said Molendyk.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
