External auditor Rick Minichiello of Gadicke Minichiello Carr Chartered Accountants gave the Town of Creston a clean bill of financial health when he presented the 2011 audited financial statements at Tuesday’s regular town council meeting.
“In our opinion, these consolidated financial statements present fairly, in all material aspects, the financial position of the Town of Creston as of Dec. 31, 2011, and the results of its operations for the year then ended in accordance with Canadian generally accepted accounting principles,” he said.
Minichiello led council through the statements and commented that in several areas the town’s financial position had improved. He also complimented senior staff on its implementation of a capital asset management system.
“This is a terrific system that will lead to cost savings for many years to come,” he said.
