RCMP Const. Crystal LeBlanc takes a look inside the cab of a transport truck that flipped and slid across the grass in front Hope Station House on Thursday morning.

A loaded transport truck knocked down power lines at the junction of Old Hope Princeton Way and Flood-Hope Road early Thursday morning in Hope.

At this point, it’s believed the truck was turning off of Flood-Hope Road onto Old Hope Princeton Way at about 1 a.m. when the driver lost control. The truck flipped on its side and slid several metres on the grass in front of Hope Station House before coming to a stop.

The driver was removed from the cab with the Jaws of Life. He suffered several lacerations but is believed to be in stable condition.

The RCMP will be investigating whether speed, weather, alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

More details will be posted as they become available.
