Mechanical failure sent a small pick-up truck careening over a Main Street curb and into the front window of a business Thursday night.

A Mazda pick-up had been travelling east on 30th Avenue when it suddenly veered left, jumped the curb and into a window of LW (Liquidation World) in the 3300 block just after 7 p.m.

The truck sideswiped a parked Chevy Tahoe before hitting the window.

The driver of the truck, a 65-year-old Vernon man, was not injured in the accident which was believed to have been caused by a broken tie rod.
