Two-car crash on Townline and Maclure in Abbotsford

One person was taken to hospital following the collision on Tuesday afternoon

One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries this afternoon after a collision at the intersection of Townline and Maclure roads in Abbotsford.

The crash took place just after 12:30 p.m. and involved two vehicles – a 2008 Acura MDX and a 1999 Chevy Cavalier.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the circumstances of the collision are not yet clear, but the impact resulted in the Cavalier flipping several times.

The female driver had to be extricated from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life.

MacDonald said she was the only one from the crash who had to be taken to hospital.

Police have closed off roads in the area while collision reconstructionists are on the scene. MacDonald said, at 3:30 p.m, that the roads could be closed for at least another hour or two – if not longer – and advised drivers to take alternate routes.
