Two injured in Esquimalt crash

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in an early morning crash

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in an early morning crash Sunday that left one man in hospital.

Paramedics, Victoria police officers and Esquimalt firefighters were called to the 900-block of Old Esquimalt Rd. around midnight after police received multiple reports of a vehicle that struck several parked cars.

When officers arrived they found a 1992 Geo Storm with major damage.

As officers approached the front of the car they found the 24-year-old driver had suffered serious head injuries. A CPR-trained witness was at the scene helping to stabilize the young man. His 20-year-old female passenger was relatively unharmed.

The driver was rushed to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
