Two injured in Sea-Doo collision on Osoyoos Lake

One woman remains in hospital after a Sea-Doo collided with a boat on Osoyoos Lake July 28.

Two people were sent to hospital after a Sea-Doo collided with a boat on Osoyoos Lake Tuesday.

A 17-year-old female and her aunt from Delta, B.C. were riding on the personal water craft while other family members were sitting stationary on a boat when the two collided.

The Sea-Doo launched on top of the passenger area of the boat. The two females on the Sea-Doo were brought to shore where they were treated and transported by air to the hospital in Kelowna.

The 17-year-old female was released, while the other female remains in hospital with serious, but non life threatening injuries.

The people on the boat were uninjured.

RCMP say this is a stark reminder of the inherent risks of operating a personal water craft with little experience.
