Recent retirements at the municipality have resulted in the hiring of two people to fill senior staff positions.
David Svetlichny has been hired as the director of finance, replacing Lorrie Coates who retired late in 2016.
Dean Strachan has been hired as director of development services, replacing Ian McIntosh.
McIntosh’s retirement takes effect at the end of this month.
“I believe we’ve selected people with the capabilities to move forward in the direction we want to move,” said Linda Tynan, chief administrative officer for the municipality.
Svetlichny and Strachan both have large projects on their agendas.
Svetlichny and the rest of the municipal finance department are working on the budget for this year. Strachan is working with the proposed iCasa development.
