Get those ugly sweaters out.
The City of Vernon is challenging residents to conserve energy by turning down the heat and wearing an ugly sweater Nov. 19.
“More than $600 worth of prizes are available, including gift certificates to Rona and Home Depot, energy use monitors, energy smart outlets, LEDs and lunch for your office, classroom or family,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, communications co-ordinator.
To enter the contest:
1. On Nov. 19, turn down the heat and wear your ugly sweater.
2. Submit photo entries at sustainability@vernon.ca or post them to www.facebook.com/VernonSustainability
3. Vote until Nov. 30 by liking your favourite photos on the Facebook page.
