May 8 will be the 32nd relay run between Fort St. James and Vanderhoof, and there’s an added twist. The run is normally a relay with eight stages of about eight km each, but this year, they’re adding another option. They have opened up the event to allow for single participants to run an ultra-marathon for the event, so one person can run the entire distance themselves. The race will begin this year from Vanderhoof’s Ferland Park at 10 a.m. and ultra marathoners will be starting at 6 a.m. from the same place. One ultra-marathoner is already signed up for the event as of press time. Anyone interested in time recording or a route description can contact Keith Gordon at 250-996-8572 for further information.
