Creston RCMP responded to 100 calls from July 23-29, a tenth of which were untraceable 911 cellphone calls that ate up valuable police time, Staff Sgt. Bob Gollan said on Monday.

July 23

•Police were called after a physical fight between a mother and daughter on 16th Avenue South. No injuries resulted and the case was reported to the appropriate provincial government authorities.

•Not a single violation was found among the 150 vehicles stopped in a checkstop on Highway 3A at Crawford Bay Road.

•A Devon Street resident complained that the Bell telephone company had sent a collection agency after the wrong person.

•A Sony laptop computer, iPod Nano and suitcase full of clothing were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Crawford Bay Road on July 21.

•No injuries resulted from a two-vehicle collision on 15th Avenue South.

•An eight-gigabyte iPod Touch was found at Canyon Street and 16th Avenue. The owner can claim it at the police station by providing the password.

•When police were called to a 16th Avenue South address they learned that she has an outstanding warrant issued in Chase.

•A report of threats was received from Highway 3/95 near Yahk.

•A father reported his 13-year-old daughter missing from his Ninth Avenue South residence. Police found her in the company of her mother.

•A ticket for littering is being forwarded to the owner of a black Dodge Durango, from which a beer can was thrown on Canyon-Lister Road.

July 24

•Two solar lights were stolen from a residence on Fourth Avenue South.

•A Kootenay Lake resident reported that his blue and black Pelican paddleboat was blown away in a storm.

•A box liner for a Ford Ranger was found on Highway 3.

•Police are investigating an assault involving two males on Highway 3.

•Creston RCMP were asked for help in investigating a historical assault by Fort St. John police.

•An anonymous report was received about a male who is driving with no insurance.

•Police were called to a Cedar Street residence about an argument over a dog’s behaviour.

July 25

•An unwanted intoxicated guest at a Centre Road residence was gone when police arrived.

•A male was arrested on Vancouver Street for violating a no contact order.

•A male was reported to be panhandling for cigarettes on Canyon Street.

•Police received a complaint about a horse on Highway 3 near Yahk.

•A half-dozen horses were reported to be galloping on Eighth Street.

•In yet another horse incident, a black Mustang spun its tires in front of a patrolling police car and the young driver, who was not displaying the requisite N, was issued a ticket for stunting and had his vehicle towed.

•A Mountain Shores Road resident reported losing his Health Canada permit that allows him to possess up to three pounds of marijuana for personal use.

•Kids were reported to be throwing rocks at Goat River swimmers from Highway 21.

•A 15-year-old driver of a dump truck took a corner too fast and flipped the vehicle onto its side on Highway 21 South. Tickets were issued to the driver and the vehicle’s owner.

•A text messaged breakup of a relationship escalated to a yelling match across Dogwood Street.

July 26

•While attending a call to a Dogwood Street residence, police seized a small quantity of marijuana, a joint and a glass pipe for destruction.

•Police were asked by a grandmother to help get her nine-year-old grandson into her car.

•A blue Chevrolet Suburban towing a white trailer was reported to have collided with mailboxes on Northwest Boulevard.

•A male who breached his no-contact order on 16th Avenue South was arrested and charged.

July 27

•A five-year-old handicapped boy was found in front of the library after wandering away from a nearby home. His parents reported him missing shortly after.

•The company that owns a truck that was reported to be driving erratically on Corn Creek Road said it would take care of the problem.

•A male was taken to hospital for a checkup after his vehicle struck a power pole on Highway 3 east of Kidd Creek.

•Police are investigating a complaint about an erratic driver on Lakeview-Arrow Creek Road.

•A driver was taken to hospital with a minor injury after colliding with a deer on Highway 3.

•A driver required hospital treatment after he was stung by a bee, which caused him to swerve into a ditch on Highway 3A near Gray Creek.

•A male was charged with impaired driving after he crashed his vehicle on Highway 3A. The driver and a passenger were treated for minor injuries.

July 28

•A motorcycle driver who swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle on Highway 3 went off the road and suffered a broken leg.

•A theft of property was reported in a family dispute on Canyon-Lister Road.

•A male who had been living in his vehicle on private property reported his vehicle had been stolen, when in fact it had been towed away.

•Patrolling police found an intoxicated male who had his car keys taken away on 10th Avenue North. He was walking in a T-shirt and underwear and was transported to a safe location.

•A motorcyclist sustained minor injuries when he skidded out of control on gravel on Highway 3A.

•An intoxicated male and female, both breaching court conditions, were arrested on Okell Road and held in police cells until sober, then released with further charges.

•A swimmer reported missing in Pilot Bay was found OK a short time later.

•A complaint about an dog howling early in the morning on 21st Avenue South was referred to the Town of Creston bylaw department.

July 29

•Police could not locate a white van, reportedly driven with the emergency brake on and emitting smoke on Kitchener Road.

•Police received a complaint about two Ducati motorcycles speeding and crossing a double solid line on Highway 3A near Crawford Bay.

•A property dispute between an estranged husband and wife was reported on Kitchener Road.
