DriveBC has just advised the Trans-Canada has re-opened west of Revelstoke, but warn of delays and heavy traffic for the next three to four hours.

DriveBC has pushed back the estimated re-opening time for the Trans-Canada west of Revelstoke to between 4 and 5 p.m. today. For updates, see the DriveBC website.

One person is dead and the Trans-Canada Highway is closed west of Revelstoke following head-on collision eight kilometres west of town on Sunday morning.
Revelstoke RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Thomas Blakney said a westbound passenger vehicle with one occupant struck an eastbound tractor-trailer truck at about 8:10 a.m. Sunday, July 7.
The occupant of the passenger vehicle died at the scene; the driver of the transport truck was not injured.
DriveBC estimates the highway will be reopened between 1–3 p.m. and will update the situation at noon today. Cpl. Blakney estimated the highway would re-open at 2 p.m.
Fatal collisions on the Trans-Canada often involve lengthy closures as officials investigate the scene.
