Knodel is described as age 16, 170 cm (approx. 5’6 to 5’7), 63.5 kilograms (140 pounds / slim), black buzz-cut hair, brown eyes and wearing jeans, a hoody and possibly carrying a backpack.
Nelson RCMP would like to hear from anyone who has seen or been in contact with Knodel — particularly if any motorists in the South Slocan area saw a young boy hitchhiking on Tuesday evening around 10:10 p.m. near the South Slocan junction.

Knodel had been staying in the care of a friend there and was due to travel to Winnipeg in May to re-unite with his mother.
It is unknown at this time if he was heading east to Winnipeg or not as he has family members in Chilliwack, Dawson Creek, and Kelowna.
