UPDATE: Police conclude investigation after injured man found in Abbotsford

Man was found in bushes on George Ferguson Way on Saturday morning and taken to hospital

Abbotsford Police have concluded their investigation into an injured man who was found Saturday in the 34000 block of  George Ferguson Way, and they say no assault occurred.

Const. Ian MacDonald said the man had been walking along the sidewalk when his arm was badly cut by a nail protruding from a fence. He then fell, hit his head and became unconscious.

MacDonald said the 43-year-old man was bleeding profusely and becoming hypothermic when he was discovered in some bushes by a passerby at about 11 a.m.

The man was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries, and Abbotsford Police were called in to investigate.

At the time, police said they were trying to determine exactly what had happened to the man, and they could not rule out the possibility that he had been assaulted.

They were later able to interview the man and conclude that no assault had occurred.
