Nanaimo RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing this afternoon.
At 3:20 p.m., police received report of a stabbing in the area of Albert Street and Hecate Street, after a call from someone who said an injured male had walked into his home bleeding from an apparent stab wound to his arm. He had also been pepper sprayed, according to an RCMP press release.
Police responded, B.C. paramedics arrived and a male, believed to be in his late-30s, was transported to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with, what is being called, “a non-life threatening injury,” according to Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman.
The male would not provide information to investigators and police are seeking witnesses and any information related to the incident.
