A group that helps those in need has benefitted from a bunch of guys who give a damn.
Vernon’s Upper Room Mission received $10,500 during the inaugural meeting of One Hundred Men Who Give A Damn.
“We had well over 80 present, with quite a few cheques being dropped off before the meeting, and some trickling in the day after,” said Andrew Thompson, founder of One Hundred Men locally.
“All in all, we were blown away to see the response. We live in a great community, with people who are looking for a way to lend a hand.”
The focus of One Hundred Men is to bring together like-minded men who donate $100 each quarter to a charity selected by the group.
Donors will receive a tax receipt from the selected charity.
