Valley Auction rallies for fire relief

The Raffan family and all of Valley Auction’s staff will hold a smoked beef luncheon Thursday

Valley Auction is always doing its part to help the local community.

Now, the Spallumcheen company is helping its neighbours.

The Raffan family and all of Valley Auction’s staff invite everyone to a smoked beef luncheon Thursday at Valley Auction on Highway 97A.

The event starts at 10 a.m. with all profits from the luncheon going to assist the victims of the Fort McMurray wildfire.

“We’re Canadians, all Canadians benefit from what goes on in and around Fort McMurray, and the people of Fort McMurray have been totally displaced by this fire,” said Don Raffan.

The beef will be smoked on site in Valley Auction’s famous smoker and served on a pretzel bun with potato salad and a cold drink.

“Everyone at Valley Auction wanted to find a way to help those who have been so tragically impacted by the fire and to unite as neighbours,” said Raffan.

If people are unable to attend but would like to donate, they can do so by dropping by the Valley Auction office.
