A vehicle was firebombed in Williams Lake Saturday, Sept. 13, while parked in a driveway in the 1100 block of Moon Avenue, Williams Lake RCMP said.
“The caller of the incident believed the vehicle had been fire bombed while parked in the driveway,” Sgt. LeBeuf said in a media roundup of the weekend’s calls.
The Williams Lake fire dept. responded and extinguished the fire.
Sept. 14
At 3:18 a.m, RCMP received a call from a resident who lives in the 300 block of Ninth Avenue reported vandalism to black Chevrolet Cobalat.
The witness saw a 2001 two-door Honda Civic drive into a parking lot on his street.
A male wearing a black hoodie and ball cap got out of the passenger’s side, walked over to the Cobalt, slashed three of the four tires and keyed the driver’s side, resulting in more than $1,000 damage
The driver then got back into the Honda and left the scene.
Later that day at approximately 7:34 p.m. police received a complaint of a stolen 1999 White Ford Explorer, stolen some time between 3 and 4 a.m. from the 600 block of Carson Drive.
The vehicle was later located burnt on the Anaham Reserve in Alexis Creek.
At approximately 9:11 p.m. RCMP received a report of a robbery at a residence in the 600 block of Pinchbeck.
An unknown male came to the victim’s door and proceeded to demand the victim give him a gold chain, with gold tooth attached, which the owner had in his residence.
The male made off with the gold chain. No weapon was produced or mentioned and the victim was not harmed.
The suspect is described as a male in his 30s, with a thin black moustache, black hair and medium to dark complexion.
Police said it appeared to have been a targeted robbery, not a random incident.
