Police pulled over two vehicles thought to be involved in drug trafficking at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday in central Nanaimo.
According to Nanaimo RCMP, a search of the vehicles turned up eight grams of prepackaged cocaine and heroin, four cellphones, an undisclosed amount of Canadian cash and led to three people being arrested. Those finds lead police to search a home on the 4700 block of Uplands Drive where they found 113 grams of suspected cocaine, more Canadian cash, cell phones and drug related paraphernalia.
No one was home at the time of the search.
Two suspects, a 23-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, have been released on promises to appear May 26 in Nanaimo provincial court for possession of a controlled substance.
A 44-year-old man was held in custody for trafficking of a controlled substance and was scheduled to is expected appear in Nanaimo provincial court Wednesday.
