Vernon budget open to public

Council will meet Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to discuss this year’s financial plan.

Vernon residents can play a role in developing the city’s 2015 budget.

Council will meet Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to discuss this year’s financial plan.

“Each day, time is set aside for public input at 11 a.m., which council welcomes,” said Mayor Akbal Mund.

The meetings begin at 9 a.m. at city hall and  there will be presentations from each department.

Presently, the maximum budgetary increase for municipal services is 1.8 per cent, and the budget retains the dedicated 1.9 per cent for infrastructure.
