A Vernon business is pursuing public assistance after a break-in.
Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery wants to identify the suspects who broke into the 24th Street building Saturday morning.
“The duo arrived at the distillery in a Toyota Tundra/Tacoma at about 5 a.m. to take a closer look at a display case, which holds several limited editions of Okanagan Spirits Laird of Fintry Whisky, before returning to their vehicle,” said Tyler Dyck, chief executive officer.
“Eight minutes later, the two men were witnessed, via surveillance, smashing through the glass door entrance and attempting to break open the display cases, causing thousands of dollars in damage in the process.”
Spooked by the alarms, the suspects did not make off with any whisky but they did make off with a collection of spirits as they departed the scene
“As a family-owned local business, we are saddened by this vandalism and are looking to the public to provide any information they may have using video footage captured from the distillery’s surveillance cameras to identify the men,” said Dyck.
