Vernon police seek hit-and-run witnesses

Incident occurred at 11:35 a.m. at the McDonald’s on 58th Avenue.

Vernon RCMP are looking for witnesses to a late-morning accident Tuesday.

A 36-year-old Vernon resident called emergency services at 11:35 a.m. to report her vehicle had been hit from behind while pulling out of McDonald’s on 58th Avenue.

Police attended, along with ambulance personnel.

“Our officer examined the vehicle for damage and noticed two small marks on the rear bumper that could have resulted from another vehicle,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.

The victim of this crash stated that she could not tell if the vehicle that hit her was a car or truck or what colour it was.

The RCMP are asking anyone who was in the area of the McDonald’s restaurant on Tuesday at around 11:35 a.m., and witnessed an accident between a 2001 brown Hyundai Elantra and another vehicle, to please call them at 250-545-7171 as police would like to continue to investigate this file.
