The public is being asked to help Vernon RCMP solve a serious assault Tuesday.
The incident took place at 7:30 p.m. at a home in the 4000 block of 27A Street.
Police were called and found a man inside the residence. He was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital for treatment.
“The 42-year-old victim, who is known to police, has serious but non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed and assaulted,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
Police believe multiple suspects were involved in the assault and that they forced their way into the home, seeking out the victim.
The investigation is continuing, and police are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the 4000 block of 27A Street around 7:30 p.m.Tuesday to call them at 250-545-7171, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
