Vernon teachers will be picketing Wednesday at the Vernon School District office.
The rally will run from 7 to 9:30 a.m. and is part of the union’s ongoing attempt to reach a contract with the provincial government.
“Teachers believe a deal is possible through mediation,” said Heather Malcolm, VTA president.
“Teachers want to be back in schools and classrooms this September working with their students and providing them with the resources and support they need. The government stripped $275 million out of public education each year since 2002. Teachers want some that money returned and students need that money returned.”
