Vernon woman finds out sentencing fate Monday afternoon

Lori Victoria Vance, 39, pleads guilty to impaired driving causing death and impaired driving causing bodily harm

A Vernon woman will find out her fate Monday afternoon in Vernon Provincial Court.

Lori Victoria Vance, 39, entered guilty pleas on charges of impaired driving causing death and impaired driving causing bodily harm in connection with an accident in downtown Vernon in the early hours of Oct. 23, 2014.

Vance was behind the wheel of a mini van that went through a red light and t-boned a car containing two on-duty Vernon Jubilee Hospital nurses who were on a coffee break.

Erin Smith was killed and Lindsay Hauck was seriously injured.

Judge Richard Hewson will pronounce sentencing at 3 p.m.
