Vernon’s Dream Auction raises $195,000

The event is sponsored by members of the Kalamalka Rotary Club

Enthusiastic bidders helped raise $195,000  at the 30th annual Kalamalka Rotary Dream Auction.

The event took place at the Best Western Vernon Lodge Saturday.

“We’re very fortunate to have such enthusiastic support from our donors and bidders,” said Greg MacKinnon, Kalamalka Rotary Club president.

“Raising an amount such as we have tonight enables Kal Rotary to support dozens of worthy community projects each year and the club is pleased to announce that tonight’s proceeds brings the total raised by Dream Auction to more than $3 million since its inception.”

Community groups can begin applying for grants in January once the final accounting is complete.  Full details are available at www.kalrotary.org under the Funding tab.

“We couldn’t do this without the generous support of the community,” said Dream Auction chairperson Neil Perry.

“I’d like to also recognize the contribution of the more than 88 Kal Rotary club members who begin working on Dream Auction in August each year.”
