Veterans office open

Ottawa has announced the Veterans Affairs client service agent will remain in Kelowna.

Veterans will continue to be able to access information on federal programs in the Okanagan.

Ottawa has announced the Veterans Affairs client service agent will remain in Kelowna.

“By having an experienced Veterans Affairs staff member in the Service Canada building, veterans who want to speak personally to a Veterans Affairs staff member will again have that opportunity,” said Ron Cannan, Kelowna-Lake Country MP.

“Our government is dedicated to ensuring veterans and their families have the support they need, when and where they need it, from coast to coast to coast.”

Cannan says he has alerted Veterans Affairs of the importance of reinstating proper signage to ensure local veterans know that face-to-face assistance is available at this location.

The government had been planning to close the Kelowna office in February.
