The body of a woman was discovered early this morning (Wednesday) by a person walking their dog in a forested area of Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford.
Few details are available at this time, but the body was discovered just before 6 a.m. in an area of the park at Emerson Street and Bevan Avenue. The woman’s identity has not yet been determined, but Const. Ian MacDonald said she appears to be in her 30s or 40s.
A large area of the park was taped off by police, and investigators were on the scene. It is not yet known if foul play was involved.
Members of the Abbotsford Police Department‘s patrol division, major crime unit and forensic identification section are involved in the investigation. The regional Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has not been involved to this point.
MacDonald said there might not be any update to the case – such as the woman’s age – until tomorrow.
