Sheri Walsh has been elected to represent Slocan Valley and Bonnington area residents on the Kootenay Lake school board.
Walsh, who is currently secretary of the district parent advisory committee, dominated the race with 87 per cent of voters casting their ballot in her favour, according to unofficial election results.
A total of 282 people voted in the school district bi-election — 8.5 per cent of registered voters.
Walsh ran against Bob Price, a former chair of the Brent Kennedy parent advisory committee.
She will fill the trustee seat, left vacant by Barb Lindsay, until fall of 2014.
(CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story stated that Bob Price was the present chair of the Brent Kennedy parent committee.)
