Woman succumbs to a July 25 MVI near 100 Mile House

RCMP wants to talk to anyone who may have witnessed collision

Around 11:07 p.m. on July 25, 100 Mile House RCMP were called to a report of a motor vehicle incident on Highway 97 near Canim-Hendrix Lake Rd.

Upon arrival it was found that a small passenger car travelling southbound on Highway 97

drove off road right into the back of a parked chip truck trailer at what is known as the 101 pullout.

An 86-year-old woman was the sole occupant and driver of the vehicle and she was seriously injured as a result of the collision.

She was taken to hospital in Kamloops for further treatment. A collision analyst from the Williams Lake RCMP attended the scene, as well as members of the Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services Section to conduct a scene investigation.

On Aug. 6, the woman passed away as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision.

The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is investigating. Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services is continuing to investigate and is asking for any witnesses to the collision to call the 100 Mile House RCMP detachment at 250-395-2456.

The deceased’s name is not being released at this time.
